Performer Application

Bonjour and welcome to the third edition of the Montreal International burlesque festival ! We will showcase talent from all over the world in 3 different nights, at club soda (1225 St Laurent, Montreal) 3 different shows with different artistes every night. To participate and be featured on stage in the festival you need to fill up the application entirely, (their is a fee of $20 per application without which your application will not be considered) There is no Burlesque competition this year, only a selection of the bests artists ! You need to apply in order to be chosen and get on that stage! DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MAY 31ST 2011.

Thursday we will open the festivities with a fashion show vintage and pin up inspired followed by and all Canadian showcase, every performer will be our own stars right here and from every corner of our vast beautiful country.

Friday night is our international showcase with artist from all over the world, no boundaries Asia, Europe, America etc...

Saturday is the gala night, featuring headliners, faces that you know and some that you will discover.

We are in for a treat! so much talent and variety acts will be giving their best to offer the time of your life! as much for the audience as for the artists themselves!

We offer Rigging if you need and it is 125$ per points, contact us if you need to have it done!

To all the performers who wishes to perform on the stage of the prestigious Montreal Burlesque Festival, Welcome! Please fill up this application form, all field are required, and the application fee is $20 per application. If you are a troupe, it is only a one time fee of $20 for the application. Please note that your number should not be longer than 4mins!!! Deadline for application is May 31st 2011

How do the performers get chosen:
On July 2nd, a committee of 6 people gets together to revue all the applications 1 by 1 and do make anonymous voting on each one. Once the committee finishes, the top rated performers get to the top of the list and that is how it's done! So it is fair to everyone!

The selection criteria are:
Poise, smoothness of performance Stage Presence, Charisma and Energy
Originality and Creativity
Costume, Overall Glamour, theatricality
Knowledge of Burlesque, familiarity with burlesque/burlesque history is essential
Entrance to and Exit from Stage
Community Spirit
